The Who, The What and The Why

Laurelwood is a five-piece alternative pop-rock band from Gainesville, Georgia blending the emotional punch of 90s alternative with the melodic hooks of modern indie rock. Their sound lives somewhere between driving guitars, big choruses, and honest storytelling.

The band is built from the bones of a local favorite: the 2014 Atlanta group Tyler Talks to Doors. Four of those original members reunited years later with unfinished songs, sharper instincts, and a renewed love for playing loud together. This time they brought one more piece into the fold — bassist Derek Nunn, the singer’s brother — giving Laurelwood both fresh energy and a deeper family dynamic.

The lineup features:

• Paris Carson – vocals

• Adam Jaco – lead guitar

• Daniel Plont – rhythm guitar

• Derek Nunn – bass

• Tyler Seibert – drums (also of Kyle Lewis is a Boring Name)

At the heart of Laurelwood are longtime collaborators Paris Carson and Adam Jaco, who have been writing songs together since they were fifteen years old — usually sitting across from each other with acoustic guitars and trading ideas. That songwriting partnership still fuels the band today, shaping songs that balance nostalgia, vulnerability, and explosive guitar-driven moments.

Laurelwood’s music carries the spirit of bands that made people fall in love with alternative rock in the first place: songs meant to be sung in crowded rooms, guitars that feel both gritty and melodic, and lyrics that land somewhere between late-night honesty and reckless optimism.

Now back together in a new form, Laurelwood is stepping into its next chapter — writing new music, playing local stages, and proving that sometimes the best bands just need a little time before they become the band they were meant to be.
